Privacy policy

Draft, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. This text describes the processing that actually takes place on this site. It is not a substitute for legal review — please have it signed off before going live.

1. Controller

Alpine Perspective GmbH
Maneggstrasse 33, 8041 Zurich, Switzerland
Email: office@alpineperspective.com

We process personal data under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where visitors from the European Economic Area are concerned, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. In short

This is a static website. Fonts, images and videos are served from our own hosting. Without your consent the site sets no cookies and makes no connection to third-party servers.

The one exception is audience measurement with Google Analytics — and that only runs once you have agreed in the banner at the bottom of the page. If you decline, or decide nothing at all, nothing is loaded and nothing is measured. The site works in full either way.

3. Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Netlify (Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page, technically necessary connection data is processed: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system.

This data is required to deliver the site and to defend against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place with Netlify; transfers to the USA are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

4. Newsletter and launch signup

If you sign up through one of the forms, we process your email address, the language version you used and the date and time of signup. Submissions are received through Netlify Forms and stored there in our account.

Purpose

Nothing else. We do not pass addresses on to third parties and we do not sell them.

Legal basis

Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future — via the unsubscribe link in every email, or informally to office@alpineperspective.com. The lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal is unaffected.

Retention

Until you withdraw consent, and at most twelve months after launch unless you want to keep hearing from us. Once you withdraw, we delete the address.

Spam protection

The forms contain a field that is invisible to humans (a “honeypot”). If it is filled in, Netlify discards the submission as automated. No additional personal data is collected in the process.

5. Fonts

The fonts used (Bricolage Grotesque, Inter) are served from our own hosting. Opening the site makes no connection to Google servers.

6. Videos

The video clips are served from our own hosting and are only loaded once you deliberately start a clip. No services such as YouTube or Vimeo are embedded.

7. Audience measurement with Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-4792QCSVEB), a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It tells us how the site is found and used — which sections get read and where people drop off.

Only with your consent

A banner appears at the bottom of the page on your first visit. Only once you agree there is Google's measurement script loaded. Before that, not a single request goes to Google and no cookie is set.

Your decision is kept in your browser's local storage under the key mrb-consent — not in a cookie. It never leaves your device.

Data processed

Legal basis and retention

Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). The cookies expire after two years at most; the data in Google Analytics is deleted after 14 months.

Transfers to the USA

Our contracting party is Google Ireland Limited, but processing in the USA by Google LLC cannot be ruled out. This is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. US authorities may under certain circumstances access such data without the same legal remedies being available as in the EU or Switzerland.

Withdrawing consent

"Cookie settings" in the footer of every page brings the banner back, so you can withdraw your consent with one click. Nothing is measured from then on. Cookies already set can be removed in your browser settings. Google also offers a browser opt-out add-on.

8. Your rights

In relation to us, you have the right to:

Just write to office@alpineperspective.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Switzerland with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EEA with your local data protection authority.

9. Changes

We will update this policy if the processing changes — for instance when a shop or a newsletter delivery service is added at launch. The version published here is the one that applies.
